Country Life's Book of Dogs
For more than a century, Country Life has treated dogs not simply as pets, but as central characters in rural British life. This elegantly designed volume celebrates this relationship featuring seventy breeds based on Royal Kennel Club classifications: hounds, working dogs, terriers, gundogs, herding dogs, toys, and utility. Each breed profile includes modern and archival photographs along with history, anecdotes, and lore. From the four-legged friends of the Royal Family and celebrities to stately homes such as Badminton House, Belvoir Castle, Castle Howard and Holkham Hall, the book showcases some of the nation’s favourite dog breeds and examines their place in the fabric of British country life.
