Equally at home in a contemporary minimalist or gravel garden, it can be planted in beds and borders as ground cover and its tolerance of shady or poor conditions can be exploited. While easy to grow, it can become invasive. If crushed or cut the stems secrete a milky sap which can cause great irritation, so gloves are recommended.
