Helleborus x lemperii Winter Ballet Katie , 2/3L
One of the earliest flowering hellebores in the Winter Ballet series is Winter Ballet Katie, a pretty clump forming perennial, which flowers from October onwards. Its upright flowers are light pink, radiating white towards the centre. The clump forming perennial prefers a shady spot, particularly during summer, so preferably under a deciduous tree! It also works well as a container specimen.

Hellebores are a particularly pleasing addition to the garden as they are one of the only winter flowering plants, providing much needed colour on a gloomy day. They also offer a valuable source of nectar to foraging insects, especially bees, when little else is in flower.

- Leave foliage to protect the young buds, but as the hellebore flowers, remove the old foliage to reveal the blooms, this looks attractive and helps to prevent disease. Top dress with fertiliser in the autumn.
