Hydrangea Paniculata Polestar
A truly wonderful variety, Hydrangea Paniculata Polestar is notable for its compact habit, (reaching only about 50cm at maturity) and its ability to start flowering earlier than other varieties. The flowers on the lacy flowerhead open as a greenish white before taking on a pink tone which intensifies as the season progresses, resulting in a rich pink.

Deciduous shrubs, paniculata hydrangeas are natives of China and Japan and are very hardy. They like to have cool roots, so they do well behind a wall, and Hydrangea Paniculata Polestar looks great in a pot, but keep it well watered, especially if planted in terracotta.
