An incredibly popular dwarf pea variety, Kelvedon Wonder is appreciated for its heavy crop of early maturing, sweet flavoured, small peas. The flowers are also edible and can be used in salads. - May need some support with canes and netting
- Grows to a height of approximately 45cm (1ft 6in)
- Harvest June - September
- Sow direct into the ground from March onwards
- 5cm deep, 5cm apart
- In rows 60cm apart
- Prefers a sheltered, sunny spot
- Protect from mice and slugs
- Sow small amounts at regular intervals to ensure a continuous supply of peas throughout the season
- For optimum sweetness, peas are best cooked when picked young and cooked within 30 minutes of harvest, before the sugar has turned to starch.
