notes

An unusual, tender variety of lavender, which will require wintering under cover, Lavendula Christiana is a striking specimen with tall trident spikes of fragrant blue flowers that bloom intermittently through the year, held on long stems. The evergreen foliage is aromatic and serrated, like some artemisias, but with the distinctive lavender colouring of silvery grey-green leaves.

Insights

A compact, bushy variety, Christiana is useful in a smaller garden, where it sits beautifully amongst grasses and other herbs, the spires adding a real architectural element to the garden. Bees and other pollinators are drawn to the fragrant flowers, which add scent and movement to a space.
