notes

This is a newer variety of Martagon lily, boasting small, downward facing flowers, with white petals and orange stamens. Thriving in partial shade, this scented lily works well in a woodland setting.

Details
  • Flowers: May - July
  • Hardy
  • Perennial
  • Perfect as a cut flower – will last for weeks in a vase
  • Plant in odd numbered groups for best display
Planting
  • Well drained, light soil
  • East, South or West aspects
  • Full sun, partial sunlight
  • Sheltered
  • Planting Time and Depth: Autumn (September - October), 15cm (6in) deep, 15-20cm (6-8in) apart
Care
  • Try to keep the base of the plant in the shade
  • Deadhead the blooms and cut back dead, hollow stems in late autumn (allow stems to die naturally first to allow bulb to store energy for next year)
  • Bulbs can be left in the ground for next year - but do not like wet feet (if planted in a container, tilt it over winter to avoid water congestion)
  • Bulbs are toxic to pets or humans if ingested and may cause skin allergy – keep away from cats
