Romneya coulteri, 5L
Bearing papery, pure white, poppy-like flowers with a bright yellow stamen, the herbaceous perennial Romneya coulteri brings vibrancy and impact to the cottage garden. Growing to 2m tall, you'd be forgiven for assuming it's a shrub not herbaceous, but it works beautifully amongst grasses in a prairie planting, or at the back of a summer border.
