Features

notes

Sage Tricolor is a particularly attractive variation of culinary sage, with the same boat-shaped, veined leaves, but in this case interestingly splashed around the edges with pinks and purples. The leaves and flowers are held on rich purple coloured stalks.

Insights

Originally a Mediterranean plant, its flavour is slightly milder than that of its unvariegated relation, but it is still delicious used in stuffing, sausages and with many meat recipes.

Care

Grown in peat free compost in a biodegradable pot made from waste coir and natural latex. After being soaked in a bucket of water this Sage and pot can be planted straight into the ground. The coir will naturally degrade, encouraging the roots to grow into the surrounding soil. Clip plants annually to preserve their shape and encourage growth of fresh leaves.
