The deciduous shrub, Sorbaria sorbifolia Pink Hopi effortlessly adds texture and colour to the garden. Its layered, feathery foliage emerges in shades of yellow, pink and red before turning green, holding its youthful colour longer than other varieties. Also known as false spirea, it bears panicles of similar small, creamy white flowers in summer.

A useful, dense ground cover, plant it somewhere it can be allowed to spread –although this variety has a more compact habit and produces less suckers than other varieties. It is helpful for erosion control on banks and slopes.
