About Us

Burford Garden Company

"At Burford, we love things that are a little different. That is our style. Maybe not cutting edge, but well designed, well made, always beautiful, or else useful, a little quirky, original and individual. It has to be different, be it old or new."

Founded in 1975 by Nigel Johnson and family, Burford Garden Company has grown into a one-of-a-kind destination store for those seeking a unique, curated mixture of plants, gardenalia, home decor, furniture, art, clothing and food to reflect their individual style.

We draw our inspiration from the very latest garden and interior trends to bring you an ever-changing visual feast of hand-picked and unique products, with new collections arriving every week.

The 'family' may have grown a little bigger now, with our 145 strong team, but our 15-acre store is still a very personal place to shop. It is at once a magical emporium, theatrical and inspirational, with highly creative, imaginative displays – be it our giant string-lit orchid trees, beautiful vintage wine bottle chandeliers, kitchen tables that comfortably seat 16, the aroma of freshly baked cakes from our craft bakery, or the shamelessly romantic abundance of our oversized Italian rose arbours.

Burford is committed to offering its customers something different at every turn. We aim to please and delight the senses, to make your shopping experience a pleasure, and fun too. Hand in hand with that ethos, our 60,000 individual products are all underwritten with a reassuring quality and unmatched customer service guarantee.

Our staff are lovely too, so we think a visit to our store is always worth your while. We're open Monday-Saturday 9am to 6pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm. We are open 7 days a week, all year round except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Easter Sunday
