notes

Clematis 'Diana’s Delight' (Evipo026) is a compact, deciduous climber renowned for its profusion of large, lavender-blue flowers with creamy yellow stamens. Blooming from late spring to early summer and again in late summer to early autumn, it's ideal for containers, trellises, or small garden spaces.

Insights

Introduced by Raymond Evison and launched at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2009, 'Diana’s Delight' was named in honour of Lady Diana Rowland for her contributions to Evison's clematis publications.

  • Hardy
Planting
  • Soil: Moist but well-drained; suitable for chalk, clay, loam, or sand
  • Aspect: East, south, west, or north-facing

Care
  • Clematis like full sun or partial shade and moist, but well-drained soil with their roots in the shade. For this, plant the crown 5-8cm (2-3in) beneath the soil, ideally shaded by other plants.
  • Alternatively layer stones on the surface of the soil, which protects the roots from the sun and from drying out.
  • Group Raymond Evison for pruning  - Reduce all stems down to 15cm (6in) of soil level in late winter/early spring. See our guide to Clematis pruning for more details
  • Can be a skin irritant and harmful to pets if ingested
