Pennisetum Rubrum, 3L
A hybrid between P. macrostachyum and P. setaceum, Pennisetum Rubrum is an ornamental fountain grass, bearing green foliage which changes to striking dark red. In late summer to early autumn these stems carry fluffy bottlebrush shaped flowers of silver and red, which bring movement and colour to the garden, before eventually turning brown. These plumes are also wonderful cut or dried as part of a floral arrangement.

For best results, plant in a sheltered sunny spot. Tolerant of drought and heat, this plant will need protection from frost. If planted in a container, please move undercover over winter. Pennisetum Rubrum is a recipient of RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.
