- Karmazyn broad bean plants grow to around 60cm (1ft 11in) tall.
- Harvest June- August
- Sow direct into the ground from February onwards
- 5cm deep, 10-15cm apart
- In rows 60cm apart
- Prefers a sunny, sheltered spot in rich soil
- If planted in a container, use the largest pot available and keep pot well- watered, removing out of direct sun, if possible, in hot weather
- Can be planted into a seed tray prior to planting out
- Protect from mice and slugs
- Pinch out the tips to prevent black fly
- Pick the beans regularly to ensure continuous flowering and bean production
- Avoid overcooking the beans as you will lose the colour!
