Part of the Montana family, Clematis 'Tetrarose' is an early flowering clematis bearing single, gently scented, mauve pink flowers with yellow stamens, held on reddish brown stems. Just as vigorous as other Montanas, 'Tetrarose' is especially valuable in being able to beautify a north-facing wall. The deciduous foliage has a subtle bronze tint. It is a recipient of RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden.

INSIGHTS
Clematis have their roots in the Far East. The first example, C. Viticella, arrived in Europe in the mid-16th century. Two centuries later, the Victorians bred numerous varieties and their popularity continues. The native climber is C. Vitalba, a familiar sight in autumn hedgerows, the fluffy seed heads explaining the traditional name: Old Man’s Beard.

CARE
