Garrya elliptica James Roof is a vigorous shrub that is ideally positioned against a fence or wall at the back of a border. Its attractive, leathery leaves create an evergreen foil for other plants, however in winter, it produces luxuriant tresses of catkin-like racemes (up to 20cm long) that resemble silvery-grey silk tassels. Recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden.
