notes

The clump forming perennial, Hosta ‘Sagae’, bears a mound of wavy, blue green leaves 20-30cm long, with creamy yellow margins. Bell shaped mauve flowers are held on tall stems in late summer, adding to its appeal. It has also been reported as more slug resistant than other hostas, due to its long stems and tough leaves. Supplied in biodegradable pot made from waste coir and natural latex.

Insights

The plantain lily looks great in a border but will also perform well as a specimen in a container. Hostas are woodland plants and, as such, thrive in a shady spot away from direct sun, sheltered away from cold winds, with soil that does not dry out. Awarded American Hosta Growers 2000 ‘Hosta of the Year’, and is a recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.
