notes

This astonishing variety is described as a garland hydrangea, producing up to six times more flowers than most other cultivars. On each pair of leaves, it carries up to six large lace cap flowerheads, creating a garland effect which explains its name. Flowers bloom all up the stem rather than at the tips. The pink blooms are blushed with just a hint of white, creating a romantic display over a long season, from early summer to autumn.

Insights

This hardy perennial shrub, Hydrangea 'French Bolero' is a modern hybrid of 2 species, H. scandens and H. macrophllya and has a dense, rounded habit that makes it perfect in a patio container. Alternatively, plant it as a specimen or in a lightly shaded border, where it will add elegance to your planting scheme. It is also good for cutting and in dried arrangements.
