notes

Olea Europaea 'Frangivento' is a wonderful Tuscan olive that is hardy enough to stay outside  all year in a sheltered position. 'Frangivento' means windbreak! The olive has a rugged, much branched habit, with long silvery leaves and small creamy white flowers in late spring. Under suitable conditions it may bear fruit as is self pollinating. Evergreen and drought tolerant, olive trees add a touch of the sun kissed Mediterranean to any outdoor space.

INSIGHTS

Olea europaea "Frangivento" has a very neat, upright habit, looking almost like a Cypress tree (it is also known as 'Cipressino') when mature. It is this growth pattern (and its resistance to salty winds) that has earned it the 'windbreak' name, making a suitable hedging plant.
