notes

From the incomparable rose grower, David Austin, comes this beautiful, almost thornless example: Rosa Lichfield Angel (Ausrelate). The foliage forms a vigorous, rounded bush from which burst a mass of repeat flowering, peachy-pink buds, which flower with a light, musk fragrance.

Please note, our roses are available to purchase all year round, so depending on the time of year your rose may either arrive in bloom or have been pruned or deadheaded appropriately for the season.

Insights

Why the heavenly name? Under thirty miles from the David Austin nursery is Lichfield Cathedral where, in 2003, a remarkable discovery of a carved limestone panel was made, depicting an angel, now known as The Lichfield Angel. This glorious rose which, being almost thornless, angelically inflicts no pain.
