Features

notes

Malus Toringo Scarlett is a small, fruitful crab apple tree with gracefully arching branches. In mid-spring it produces sprays of rich, deep pink blossom, which provides not only a visual treat, but has a wonderful fragrance. A recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden.

Insights

The blooms mature to produce deep purple fruits, which, if not harvested, hang onto the branches well into the autumn. There is more: the foliage is also valued for its colour. The pointed leaves emerge purple-tinted and mature to a deep green before taking on majestic purple, red and yellow tints in autumn.
