notes

Well-known Ficus carica Brown Turkey is easy to grow and produces prolific crops of large, sweet figs. The figs appear as green in the spring but mature to a purple-brown, with deep red flesh. It is self fertile, so you only need one plant. A recipient of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, for all round excellence in the garden.

Insights

Fully hardy, Ficus carica Brown Turkey is best grown fan-trained on wires, against a south-facing wall or fence in a sheltered location. Grow in a container and restrict the roots to promote fruit production.
