Crocus sativus, pack of 30 bulbs
Unlike other crocus species, Crocus sativus blooms in the autumn, offering a small, goblet shaped flower with violet petals and deep red stamens. What makes this crocus so special is that these three stamens are used for saffron, the most expensive spice in the world - however as it takes about 150 flowers to make 1g of saffron, you’ll need quite a few bags of bulbs before you hit the jackpot! Wonderful at providing a burst of colour just when you need it.
