This variety is a slightly later flowering Japanese or Ornamental Quince, but the appearance of the flowers in spring is still magical, the elegant apricot coloured blossoms with showy yellow anthers lighting up its part of the garden.

Insights
A native of South East Asia, this robust shrub is beloved of flower arrangers, who include the bare stems with the highly decorative blossoms in vases of mixed spring flowers or use for Ikebana-inspired arrangements. It retains its popularity and was a recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.

Flowers: A mass of small blossom-like blooms from March-May, replaced by small, yellowy green fruits without fuzz (unlike their edible relations)
