- Sow: January - April (indoors) or May - July (direct outdoors)
- Flowers: June - August
- Perennial
- Soil: Well‑drained, fertile soil
- Aspect: Full sun to light shade
- Indoors: Sow seeds thinly in trays of fine seed compost, covering lightly and keeping moist until germination.
- Outdoors: Direct sow after frost risk has passed, pressing seeds gently into the soil surface.
- Spacing: Once seedlings are established, thin to around 30–45 cm (12–18in) apart to allow room for growth and airflow.
Keep soil evenly moist during establishment, especially through dry spells. Once settled, this geum is relatively low‑maintenance; deadhead spent flowers to encourage prolonged blooming through summer and cut back old stems in autumn to maintain a tidy clump. Providing well‑drained soil is important, as this plant does not like waterlogged conditions.
