A Large-Flowered crocus: vigorous, prolific, and long-lasting. These early bloomers form neat clumps and are excellent at multiplying to create drifts of vibrant purple.
Flowering Time: February–March (early spring)
- Soil: Fertile, well-drained
- Aspect: Full sun to part shade
- Planting Time & Depth: Plant autumn (Sept–Nov) at 7–10 cm deep, spacing bulbs 5–8 cm apart.
- Bulbs are toxic to pets or humans if ingested
- Corms are vulnerable to mice and squirrels
- If planted in lawns, do not mow for six weeks after they have flowered to allow the foliage to provide energy for the corms (for next year’s flowers)
