Diane Urwin has won various awards for her watercolours, but she approaches her still life compositions in acrylic paint, painstakingly applied in multiple layers to achieve a highly realistic and polished finish reminiscent of that achieved by the European Old Masters.
Urwin’s creativity started at an early age, inherited from her father. She studied Dress Design at Nottingham Art College before becoming a professionally qualified artist - her illustrations in numerous publications. She has subsequently concentrated on painting still life’s as shown here. Urwin has won prestigious awards and is an active member of the Society of Women’s Artists.
