notes

With its unusual, orchid-like blooms, this foxglove is remarkably floriferous. The flowers display a two-tone effect, featuring pale pink-white lower petals contrasted by creamy upper petals, creating a striking display throughout the flowering season. The blooms are also highly attractive to bees and other pollinators.

Insights

Foxgloves are a familiar and beloved sight in cottage gardens where they punctuate the herbaceous border with picturesque spires of colour. However, they are highly toxic to humans and animals and are also known by the more sinister names: ‘dead man’s bells’ and ‘witch’s gloves’.
