notes

Compact and easy to grow, this Japanese holly globe is a bushy, evergreen shrub that is ideal for adding interest and structure to the garden. Often used as an alternative to box, it originates in Japan, where its yellowy green foliage is often clipped into topiary. It is a recipient of RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.

INSIGHTS

Use this globe as an architectural element in the garden – either as a specimen piece or as a framework for design. Its compact nature also makes it well suited to smaller gardens and container planting. Convexa is a female ilex, so needs a male holly to cross pollinate its small white flowers for production of glossy black fruit in autumn.
