Insights
Believed to date back to the late 1700s, kissing under the mistletoe became popular with the Victorians. In France mistletoe is seen as a good luck charm, with many sprigs gifted at New Year, and in many other countries it is seen a symbol of friendship, love and fertility (possibly because it remains evergreen in the depths of winter).
