Features

notes

Eye-catchingly handsome, Sambucus porphyrophylla Black Tower creates a striking presence in the middle of a border or in a container. The deeply cut, toothed foliage emerges a fresh spring green and in the spring sunshine turns a luscious deep, deep purple. In addition, the early summer flowers are delightfully pretty and have a light, musky fragrance.

Insights

This glorious, ornamental form of the native Elderberry which, following the flowers, produces the same dark, glossy berries as its natural cousin, which can be used in making traditional preserves or beverages.
