Tulipa ‘Purple Circus’ is a show-stopping fringed tulip with white petals boldly streaked and flamed in purple-magenta. The crisp, finely serrated edges create a dramatic, textured spectacle - ideal for eye-catching borders, pots, or fresh bouquets.
A member of the Fringed Tulip Group: these late-blooming tulips thrill with their lace-like petal edges and unique, evolving colour patterns, no two flowers are exactly alike.
Flowering Time: April–May (late spring)
- Soil: Fertile, moist yet free-draining loam
- Aspect: Full sun to light shade; sheltered site helps protect delicate fringing
- Planting Time: Autumn (Sept–Nov), ideally when soils cool below ~12 °C
- Planting Depth & Spacing: 10–15 cm deep; 10–15 cm apart
- Protect from excessive wet and strong winds
- Bulbs are toxic to pets or humans if ingested and may cause skin allergy
- Deadhead as flowers fade but allow leaves to die back naturally
- Foliage should be allowed to die down naturally and then bulbs should be lifted and stored somewhere cool
