Features

notes

Nepeta Neptune is a compact variety of catmint that produces spikes of relatively large lavender-blue flowers amid its grey-green coloured aromatic foliage. As an easy plant to grow, it is pretty tough once established and copes well with sunny positions or those with a touch more shade.

Insights

Catmint is thought to have been first cultivated in the Roman town of Nepeti (otherwise known as Nepeta) where it was used as a herbal tea and insect repellent. It's delicious used sparingly in salads and warm soothing teas. Cats often find the scent irresistible, as do butterflies and bees. A wonderful long flowering burst of colour for the garden.
