Features

notes

Ideal for herbaceous borders, Alchemilla Mollis is grown for its foliage and flowers. Its round leaves with scalloped and toothed edges, are prettily folded and covered in velvety down. The decorative foliage forms a mound of leaves from which delicate sprays of flowers emerge, to tumble romantically over the edges of summer lawns or pathways.

Insights

The name Alchemilla mollis derives from the Greek words meaning ‘magic herb’, inspired by the magical way droplets of rain collect in the centres of the velvety leaves, giving the appearance of glistening cabochons. Colloquially known as Lady’s Mantle.
